Sounds of the City Below

A number of majestic whale species inhabit the waters off New York, but much about them remains a mystery. What we currently know comes from a range of sources, including whale watch vessels, occasional sightings, strandings, and some scientific studies. With our partners at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, we've launched a buoy off the Big Apple to listen in and help uncover this amazing world right under our noses.
