Many majestic whale species inhabit the waters off New York. Yet much about them remains a mystery. One thing we do know is that they face a number of serious threats.
THE LATEST FROM MELVILLE, THE BUOY
With our partners at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, we've launched a buoy (which you helped us nickname, Melville) to listen in and learn about the whales right under our noses. You can get the latest data from our two buoys, the first buoy (SE, same location as Melville) and another buoy to the NW here.
