Today, scientists from the New York Aquarium announced a collaboration with OCEARCH to conduct research in the waters off New York.
There are more than two dozen shark species found in the area. What role does the region play in their life history? That's one big question the scientists will be exploring, with a special focus on blue, mako, and great white sharks
"New York Aquarium scientists have been studying the movements of blue andmako sharks offshore since 2012, and we expect our partnership withOCEARCHto shed additional light on when the sharks are in our waters, their migratorypathways, and how we can improve our conservation efforts," saidMerryCamhi of the aquarium.
